Obituary for Ray Stoeffler

Ray Seldon Stoeffler, 80 of Nevada, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Ray was born December 23, 1937, in Nevada the son of Irwin and Ruth (Zook) Stoeffler. On September 1, 1956, he was united in marriage to Donna Sutherland. Ray worked for the Carpenter’s Local Union 106 and was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nevada. He enjoyed buck skinning, hunting, fishing and camping.

Ray is survived by his children: Earl (Deb) Stoeffler of Ogden, Danny (Delesia) Stoeffler of Nevada, Deb (Jim) Van Sickle of Nevada and Teresa (Brian) Heck of Ogden; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his brother, Jan Stoeffler of Nevada; his sisters: Sue (Max) Streeter of State Center and Becky Johnson of Colo; and a brother-in-law, Richard (Dee) Sutherland of Eufaula, OK. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and three brothers: Gary, Kent and Bradley Stoeffler.

Memorial visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 8 at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nevada. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 9, also at the church. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Bliss Cancer Center at Mary Greeley Medical Center.

Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
