FORT DODGE - Arthur M. Rasmussen, 88, of Fort Dodge, formerly of Nevada, died Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the Marian Home in Fort Dodge. He was born September 23, 1915 in Story County near McCallsburg, Iowa, the son of Antone and Mabel (Egenes) Rasmussen. He was united in marriage to Georgia Meisenheimer September 23, 1945 at McCallsburg, Iowa. Georgia preceded Art in death May 24, 2003. Art was a first class engineer having worked in the Story County Courthouse and also for the Animal Disease Laboratory in Ames. He retired in 1984. Art was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, the Iowa Custodians Association and the National Campers and Hikers Association. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: LuAnne and Terry Pavel of Fort Dodge, Iowa; two grandchildren: Andrew and Brittney Pavel and one sister, Rita Brue of Britt, Iowa. His parent, his wife, Georgia; a daughter, Pamela, in infancy; 2 brothers, Raymond Rasmussen, John Rasmussen; and three sisters, Leah Johnson, Lillian Snell and Ruth Salzman preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday at the Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 pm Monday at the Fontanelle Cemetery at Fontanelle, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be 2:00 -4:00 pm Sunday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Memorials may be made to Memorial Lutheran Church.
