Christopher "Chris" Williams, 69, of Ames, passed away Tuesday February 14, 2017, at his home. Chris was born October 15, 1947, the son of Wallace E. and Phyllis K. (Hassall) Williams. He graduated from Monrovia High School and attended the College of Idaho. On December 10, 2012, Chris was united in marriage to Donnette Scheevel with his mother Phyllis and her father Donovan attending. He worked for McFarland Clinic and had owned and managed a coffee shop and restaurants. Chris volunteered with the Story County Sheriff's Office and enjoyed music and collecting telephones. Chris is survived by his wife, Donnette of Ames; his cousin, Clara Jane James of Nevada City, CA; his nieces: Lisa (Kevin) Brown and Katie Harmons; his nephew, Ryan Harmons; a great-niece, Lyla and many loving pets. He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday, February 17 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. A Celebration of Life service will be held graveside at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 18 at the Ames Municipal Cemetery in Ames. Memorial contributions may be made to the Story County Animal Shelter or to Actors Ames Community Theatre. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
