Donald Norton, 69, of Maxwell, died at his home, Sunday, September 30, 2007. Don was born January 18, 1938 in Des Moines, Iowa, to John and Willien Norton. He was a lifelong resident of the Maxwell Community. Don graduated from Maxwell High School in 1956. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Maxwell. Don is a former member of the Maxwell Volunteer Fire Department. He owned an oil station in Maxwell and worked for Hartley Trucking and Massey Ferguson in Nevada. He retired in 1983 because of his health, which confined him to a wheelchair. Survivors include his mother, Willien, of Maxwell; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. His father and a brother, George, preceded Don in death. Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at the Maxwell Area Community Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Memorial service. Inurnment will be at the Peoria Cemetery near Maxwell. Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.
