ELKHART - Dwight E. Mohr, 90, died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a resident of Sunnyview Care Center in Ankeny, Iowa for the past five years. Services will be at the Bondurant Christian Church on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell on Friday, February 1st, 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will be at the Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart. Dwight was born May 16, 1917 at Prescott, Iowa, to parents, William Griffith and Edith (Bray) Mohr. He married Fern Simpson on Oct 7, 1938 in Winterset, Iowa. Dwight farmed, was a Farm Manager for 20 years and worked for International Harvestor for 9 years. Survivors include his wife, Fern of Ankeny; two sons: George L. (Juanita) Mohr of Grimes, Iowa and Dennis (Elsie) Mohr of Bondurant, Iowa; two daughters: Mary Lou (Fred) Higginbottom of Maxwell, Iowa and Pat (Wayne) Longnecker of Cambridge, Iowa; eight grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; one brother, Fred Mohr of Gowrie, Iowa and one sister, Peggy Skarda of Tingley, Iowa. Dwight was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Janet in infancy; one great grandchild, Amanda Lesher; one sister, Doris Schofield; two brothers: Hollis "Hod" Mohr and Jim Mohr. Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
