Gerald R. Banks, 76, of McCallsburg, died Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Gerald was born August 4, 1936 near Maxwell, Iowa, the son of Laurence and Ida (See) Banks. He was united in marriage to Irma Burgess on October 3, 1958 in Marshalltown, Iowa. Gerald had worked at R. H. Donnelley Marketing in Nevada until retiring in 1988. He was affiliated with the McCallsburg Presbyterian Church. Gerald enjoyed a good comedy, Western movies and Country Music. He is survived by his wife, Irma of McCallsburg; his son: Brian Banks of McCallsburg; two brothers: Laurence Banks, Jr., Jerry Banks, both of McCallsburg; his sister: Betty Coffman of McCallsburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside memorial services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the McCallsburg Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Gerald Banks Memorial Fund. The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada is handling arrangements.
