Joyce Hobson, 77, of Nevada, passed away Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Joyce was born June 1, 1939, in Colo, the daughter of Donald and Barbara (Troutner) Dunahoo. She graduated from Shipley High School in 1957. On May 21, 2011, she was united in marriage to Bob Hobson in Nevada. Joyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada and had worked as a housekeeper for Green Hills Retirement in Ames. She enjoyed crocheting, playing solitaire and bluegrass and country music. Joyce is survived by her husband, Bob of Nevada; her sons: Ron (Linda) Ridgway of Union and Keith (Brenda) Hobson of Nevada; her daughter, Sherri (Bill) Whetro of Nevada; her brothers: Leo (Bonnie) Dunahoo of Story City, Darrell (Joyce) Dunahoo of Missouri, Larry Dunahoo of Missouri and Donald Dunahoo of Corning, Iowa; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a daughter, Roxann Ridgway. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, October 24, at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, at the Nevada First United Methodist Church with Pastor Chris Waddle officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens near Nevada. Memorial contributions may be made to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
