NEVADA-June M. Mersman, 86, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa. Services will be Wednesday, October 10, 2:00 PM at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with visitation at 12:30 PM prior to the service. June was born July 19, 1921, at Clare, Michigan to Harry and Adeline (Spicer) Cleveland. She grew up and graduated from Clare High School. She married Roy Merton Mersman on September 20, 1951. After they were married, they moved to Nevada, Iowa. Roy preceded June in death on July 31, 1995. June was a housekeeper and retired from Mary Greeley Hospital in 1971. She enjoyed quilting and was a great cook who made the best pies. Survivors include her son, Russell (Judy) Mersman of Nevada, Iowa; a brother, Archie Cleveland of Clare, Michigan; four sisters: Mildred Hanes of Charlotte, Michigan, Ruth (Ray) Owens of Clare, Michigan, Ardeth Helbling of Newburg, Oregon, and Ella (Don) Goodbread of Seeley Lake, Montana. June was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Ronald in 1980; a daughter, Louise in infancy; a sister Wilma Pasco; and twin brothers, Bernie and Ernie Cleveland. Bacon Funeral Home & Crematory of Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
