Kathleen Ruth Green, 86, of Nevada, Iowa, died January 19, 2005 at Story County Long Term Care Center in Nevada. Kathleen was born March 3, 1918 at Maxwell, Iowa the daughter of Herman Clifford and Iva E. (Halterman) Oyler. She was united in marriage to William H. Green in the state of Nevada in 1953. William preceded Kathleen in death in 1972. Kathleen retired from El Segundo, California School District in 1985. She was a member of the Nevada Christian Church, the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary where she had served as Chaplain. She loved to sew and enjoyed her flowers. Kathleen is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Donald and Robin Luther of Spokane, Washington; a daughter and son-in-law: Sue Carol and Darrel Lieber of Sioux City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and a brother: Robert J. Oyler of Topeka, Kansas. Her parents, husband, and sister, Nancy Miller Cox, preceded Kathleen in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, January 24, 2005 at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. A luncheon will be served at the Nevada Christian Church at noon. Burial will be at 1:30 at the Maxwell Cemetery in Maxwell, Iowa. Memorials may be made to the Nevada Christian Church.
