AMES - Larry Dobson, Sr., 68, of Ames, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Larry was born June 30, 1938 at Montour, Tama County, Iowa, the son of Carlton and Dorothy (Slingluff) Dobson. He married Pansy Sager in 1956. She preceded him in death in 1981. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Maytag in Newton in 1981. Larry is survived by his long time companion, Erma Armburg; a daughter, Brenda Van Ryswyk of Baxter; two sons, Chuck Schreckenbach of Mitchellville and Larry Dobson, Jr. of Altoona; a brother Max Dobson of Nevada; and three sisters, Sheryl George, Darlene Bartmess and Marilyn Pevestorf all of Nevada. His parents, his wife, Pansy, and an infant sister, preceded him in death. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, August 16th, at the Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in rural Nevada, with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating.
