NEVADA - Lois Brandt, 79, died Thursday, December 13, 2007, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, Iowa. Services will be held Monday, December 17th at 11:00 AM at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg. Lois was born March 27, 1928, the daughter of Carl and Gertrude (Christianson) Handeland. She graduated from McCallsburg High School in 1946. Lois worked for R.H. Donnelley Corporation in Nevada and for Bourns in Ames as a parts assembler in Aviation Electronics. Lois loved and enjoyed her family and was a member of the Nevada Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters: Carol (Phil) Cacek of Nevada, Iowa and Linda (Jim) Haberer of Ogden, Iowa; two brothers: Ronald Handeland of Beulah, Colorado and Gary Handeland of Stanhope, Iowa; five sisters: Corrine Rutzen of Ames, Iowa, Ardys Schwartz of Ames, Iowa, Marilyn Holdredge of Story City, Iowa, Wilma Myers of Gilbert, Iowa and Shirley Otta of McCallsburg, Iowa; five grandchildren: Joshua Blythe, Nicholas Cacek, Derek, Jenny and Kyle Goudeau and one great grandchild. Lois was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael and one grandson, Nathan. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lois M. Brandt memorial fund. Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory of Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
