Marjorie Jean Thornwall, 92, of Maxwell, passed away Monday, February 29, 2016, at Calvin Community in Des Moines. Marjorie was born July 29, 1923, to Edgar and Mabel (Harmon) Hansen and lived in the Maxwell area her entire life. She graduated from Maxwell High School and was married to John Thornwall. Marjorie was a member of the Loring United Methodist Church and the Maxwell VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, dancing and music. Marjorie is survived by her son, Bill (Pat) Peavey; her daughter, Andrea (Dennis) Dolph; her son-in-law, Derek Bough; her grandchildren: Kerri Kabela, Kelly Peavey, Barry Dolph and Christina Poland; eleven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her daughter, Sheri Bough. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 10 at Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 11, also at the funeral home with burial to follow at Center Grove Cemetery near Cambridge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lung Cancer Association in memory of Marjorie. Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
