Shirley Carmack, 77, of Nevada passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Shirley was born March 31, 1934, in Ames to Edward and Ethel (Wakeham) Opperman. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada and the American Legion Auxiliary. Shirley enjoyed fishing, reading, computer games and being with her family.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Bill (Kris) Caughey, Rick (Suk) Hagen and Chuck Hagen; her daughters, LeeAnn (Patrick) Webb, Jeanette (Jeff) Hedland and Barb (Phil) O'Donnell; her brothers, Richard (Helen) Opperman and Jack (Jackie) Opperman; her step-sister, Marlene Ball; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son; a granddaughter; five brothers; one step-sister; one step-brother.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, January 21, 2012, at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada.
