William "Bill" Main Sr., 68, of Urbandale, formerly of Cambridge, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2012, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Bill was born August 23, 1944 in Liberty, Missouri to Jack L. and Irene (Robbins) Main. In 1968, Bill married Marie Rasmussen in Grimes; Marie passed away in 1989. He enjoyed playing cards, dice, bingo and loved John Wayne, Elvis and Mountain Dew. Bill is survived by his son, Bill Main Jr. of Norwalk; his mother, Irene Emerson of Grimes; his granddaughter, Emily Main of Norwalk; his brother, Ron (Ann) Main of Grimes; his sister, Lavenia (Ed) Carr of Des Moines; along with numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Jack "J.D.", Perry, Archie and Gary; his father Jack L. Main; his wife; and his sister-in-law, Pat Main. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell with burial to follow at Cambridge Cemetery in Cambridge.
