Alexander "Alex" James Buckles, 39, of Boone, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at Mary Greeley Medical Center due to complications of cerebral palsy.

Alex was born on October 27, 1986, in Boone, Iowa, to Dennis Michael and Gina Jamie (Blanshan) Buckles. He attended Boone High School. Alex had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed listening to music, but more than anything, he treasured the time he spent with his family. Being with those he loved brought him his greatest joy.

Alex will be deeply missed by his parents, Denny and Gina Buckles of Boone; his sister, Allyson Buckles of Chicago; his maternal grandmother, Jean Blanshan of Boone; his aunt and uncle, Paula and Bruce Conlin of Boone; his cousin, Sean Conlin and his wife, Lyndsey, of Boone; and their children, Sam Conlin and Olivia Conlin. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Blanshan.

A private graveside service and burial will be held at Linwood Park Cemetery in Boone.

Memorial donations may be given to the family for their use, to be determined at a later date.

Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada has been entrusted with caring for Alex and the arrangements.
