Alma Onieta Barker, 83 of Nevada, died Sunday, November 14, 2021, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Alma was born April 17, 1938, in Eldon, Iowa the daughter of Gilbert and Ruby (Fish) Rupe. She graduated from Eldon High School in 1957 and later that year on November 24, she was united in marriage to Larry Floyd Barker at their home near Nevada. Alma was a farm wife and enjoyed cooking and being with her family, especially her grandchildren. Alma is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Larry of Nevada; her sons: Rick Barker (Kim Bainter) of Nevada, Kevin (Kim) Barker of Nevada and Troy (Marlys) Barker of Nevada; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother, Garry (Waneta) Rupe of Bondurant; and her sister, Elaine Barker of Nevada. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Don, Doyle and Theadore; and her sisters, Doris Blackwell and LaVonne Gustafson. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned.
