Asher Ray
Jarnagin
March 31, 2021 – March 31, 2025
Asher Ray Jarnagin was born on March 31, 2021, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He was the beloved son of Tyler Jarnagin and Kaylee Kruse. On March 31, 2025, at MercyOne Medical Center, Asher left this world far too soon, at the tender age of four.
Asher was a radiant soul, a boy who carried laughter in his pockets and joy in his heart. He loved to sing with his mother, their voices intertwining in melodies of "How Far I'll Go," "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," "You'll Be in My Heart," and "You've Got a Friend in Me." Music was their shared language, a bond of love set to song. His imagination stretched as wide as the sky—Lightning McQueen and Buzz Lightyear were his heroes, and every trampoline jump was a flight to infinity and beyond. He found his best friend in his big brother, Oliver, the two inseparable in their endless adventures, their giggles echoing like a melody only they understood.
With his dad, Asher had a different kind of magic. He adored mimicking his every move, wanting to stand just like him, walk just like him, be just like him. Hats were his favorite treasure—he'd steal them right off his father's head with a mischievous grin, plopping them onto his own, tilting them just so, the way Dad did, the man he admired most.
Known for his wild, carefree spirit, Asher often found clothes to be optional, embracing the world with unfiltered joy. His favorite color was blue—the color of open skies, boundless oceans, and the brightness he brought into every room.
Asher is survived by his parents, Tyler and Kaylee; his big brother, Oliver; his paternal grandparents, Ray (Leora) Jarnagin and Sherri Dunahoo; his maternal grandparents, Troy and Jennifer Conrad; his maternal great-grandparents, Bill and Zelda Kruse and Gerald and Gale Conrad and Alex Lanstrum; his paternal great-grandparents, Gloria Eyanson and Ray Jarnagin Sr.; his maternal aunts and uncles, Alexis Houseman and fiancé Jacob Pelland, Danny (Amber) Houseman, Coltin (Karissa) Madden, and their children, Xander and Leah; Taylor Conrad and Austin Mente, Vincent Conrad, Erica, Carter, Cruz, and Jesse; and Renn Hofer. He is also survived by his paternal aunts and uncles, Kali (Josh) Keeling and their children, Eli and Ada, and Taylor Jarnagin. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Larry and Diane Madden and Bob and Joyce Hobson.
A memorial service honoring Asher will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at the First United Methodist Church located at 1036 7th Street in Nevada, officiated by Pastor Johnathan Stone.
