Audrey Carol Carpenter, 92 of Marshalltown, died Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Southridge Specialty Care in Marshalltown. Audrey was born March 6, 1928, in Des Moines, the daughter of Charles and Aramilda (Grimm) Roadenizer. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1946 and later that year on November 26, she was united in marriage to Dwight Carpenter in Maxwell. Audrey worked for Donnelly's in Nevada and spent many years as a representative for Avon, of which she made the president's club several years. Audrey was a member of the Maxwell United Methodist Church, and served as president of the Maxwell VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed puzzles, cooking, and caring for children. Audrey is survived by her sons, Guy (Karol) Carpenter of Charles City and Charles Carpenter of Ames; her daughters, Donna (Tom) Lewison of Reno, NV and Debbie Carpenter of Marshalltown; her sister, Thelma Hubbard of Nevada; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Dwight "Greg" Carpenter; a brother, Harold Roadenizer and a sister in infancy. Memorial contributions may be made to the Maxwell Museum in memory of Audrey. A gathering is planned for August 22, 2020, in Maxwell. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
