Barbara Lois Elliott, 85 of Slater, passed away Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at her home.

Barb was born on January 18, 1940, in Storm Lake, IA the daughter of Fred Lambert and Alice Mae (McDonald) Schar. She graduated from Truesdale High School and earned her bachelor's degree from Evangel University in Springfield, MO. On February 9, 1963, she was united in marriage to Thomas James Elliott at the Storm Lake Assembly of God Church. Barb worked as a secretary at various places including Ballard Schools and Iowa State University and babysat for 10 years.

Barb was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship in Elkhart. She enjoyed flower gardening and knitting and sewing. Together her and Tom spent many winters in Myrtle Beach, SC and they enjoyed traveling, especially to Alaska.

Barb is survived by her husband of 62 years Tom of Slater; her son James (JoAnn) Elliott of Ellsworth; her daughter Jeanne (Ray) Graesch of Urbandale; her grandchildren Nathan (Nicole) Elliott, Andrea (Craig) Miller, Allisun Elliott and Katelynn (Josh) Kanis. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Wendell, James, Warren, Art and William Schar; and her sister Doris Rossow.

Cremation rights have been accorded, and burial will be at White Oak Cemetery.
