It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Barbara Christiansen on Monday June 8, 2026, surrounded by her friends and family.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ann Davis. She is survived by her loving husband Tracy; her children, Chad (Stephanie), Jeremy, and Tanner (Kelli); her sisters, Pam (Jeff) Detrick & Diane Davidson; her grandchildren Carter, Emma, Eloise, and Avi; and several nieces and nephews.

An open house celebration of Barb's life will be held at a later date.

Barb was born on August 21, 1955, in Des Moines, Iowa, where she was raised and attended East High School.

Barb and Tracy married and raised 3 boys in Maxwell, Iowa. She was a devoted public servant retiring from the Department of Public Health doing a job she loved. In retirement Barb and Tracy enjoyed taking short trips with friends and family, and spending time with the grandchildren.

She especially enjoyed the days the grandchildren would come pick pumpkins, raspberries, and enjoy the many toys they had at the house. She always wanted to make sure everything was perfect even when Mother Nature would not cooperate.

A smart man said Barb ran a great race and finally crossed the finish line. She will be deeply missed and celebrated by all who knew her.
