Barb Herr, 74 of Nevada, died Thursday, December 2, 2021, at Van Diest Medical Center in Webster City. A private family service will be held at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada. Burial will be at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada. Born November 26, 1947, in Hampton, Iowa, Barbara Lou Herr was the daughter of Wendell and Elsie (Smith) Elliott. She was a 1967 graduate of Iowa Falls High School. On June 2, 1968, Barb was married to Steven Herr in Iowa Falls. She was employed as a cook and maintenance worker at Nevada Community Schools for 29 years and also was a member of the Nevada First United Methodist Church. Barb enjoyed her family and cared for all her grandchildren and great-grandsons, Kyler and Wesley, as well as her adult children. Survivors include a daughter, Kenda Kay (Kenny) Hapes of Nevada; a son, Mike Herr of Nevada; two grandchildren, Amanda Jo Elizabeth Pope and Timothy Steven Herr; two great-grandsons, Kyler Anthony Stoeffler, Wesley Steven Pope and Ollyver Herr (due March of 2022); and two sisters, Malinda (Jim) Reed of Iowa Falls and Rochelle (Kevin) Elliott of Bradford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve her parents, Wendell and Elsie Elliott; and an aunt. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
