MAXWELL- Barbara"Kay"White, 70, of Maxwell, died Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the Kavanagh Hospice Home on 56th in Des Moines. Kay was born August 14, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Gwendolyn L. (Boitnott) Dunlap. She graduated from Farrar High School in 1955. Kay was united in marriage to Jerry White on July 17, 1955 at the Farrar Methodist Church. Kay was a homemaker and had worked at Kay's Country Floral in Maxwell for several years. She was a member of the Peoria United Methodist, had served as president of the Peoria UMW and also as District President of UMW, she has also been very active in the CFO since the 1970s. Kay loved her grandchildren, gardening and roses. She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Maxwell; 2 sons: Jim White of Elizabeth, KY, Todd (Michelle) White of Maxwell; a daughter: Lesia (Kelly) Vaughn of Maxwell; 3 grandchildren: Jennifer, Shane and Ricky; and a sister: Bonnie Lee Gable of Carson City, Nevada. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Jimmie Dunlap and Betty Pagels. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Private Burial services will be at a later date. Visitation will be 6:30- 8:00 PM Monday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Peoria United Methodist Church and to the Hospice of Central Iowa. The Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
