Betty Jean (Kopf) Robertson, 87, of Nevada, Iowa, passed away Friday, February 6, 2009, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Her body has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be held Sunday, February 15, 2009, at 2:00 P.M. at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment of her cremains will be at Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center, Iowa. Betty was born January 2, 1922, in Maxwell, Iowa, the daughter of Lyle and Mae(Ayers)Kopf. She married Lowell Robertson on June 30, 1941 in Princeton, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1999. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1939, and worked at Donnelley Marketing in Nevada from 1940 to 1974. Betty and Lowell enjoyed many summers camping and fishing in Minnesota after their retirement. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother: Clyde (Bud) Kopf in 2005; and one granddaughter: Marla Backous. She is survived by four children: Sue (Darwin) Backous of Boone, Iowa; Jerry (Nancy) Robertson of Urbandale, Iowa; Kae (Gale) Stratton of Nevada, Iowa; and Jack (Robin) Robertson of Prior Lake, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to Nevada Senior Citizens Center Building Fund. Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
