Betty Lou Wiese, 90 of Nevada, died Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at Story County Senior Care in Nevada.

Betty was born on February 8, 1932, at Guthrie Center, Iowa to Francis Anderson and Margaret Clapp. She was united in marriage to Robert John Becvar on August 15, 1948. To this union five children were born. Marcia (Ron) Smith, Elaine Turan, Michael (Joleen) Becvar, Virginia (Stephen) Fruehling and Paul Becvar. Robert (Bob) passed away in May 1960, leaving Betty with five small children to care for. She was hard working and held many different jobs over the years. She worked at Donnelly Marketing Business, Mary Greeley Medical Center and many other jobs providing for her family. She loved playing cards with family and friends. Her favorite was hand and foot. Putting jigsaw puzzles together, crocheting, sewing, embroidery, baking chocolate cakes and gardening. She liked to clean using a toothbrush, toothpick, and lots of elbow grease. She also liked to rearrange the furniture. She loved animals. Betty was affectionately known as Mom, Grandma, Grandma Betty, Grandma TOO and Gram Ka. She enjoyed spending time with family.

Betty was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in January 19, 1959. She attended the Ames Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.

She is survived by her sister: Elsie Spaid; several sisters-in-law and brother-in-law; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert John Becvar, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses located at 23048 590th Avenue Nevada, Iowa 50201.
