Beverly J. Hofer, 64, of Nevada died Monday, February 28, 2005 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Beverly was born August 18, 1940 in Berseford, South Dakota, the daughter of Erick and Elsie V. (Westling) Nelson. She was united in marriage to Mark Hofer December 26, 1986 at Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames, Iowa. Beverly had worked as a waitress at the Ramada Inn in Ames for several years, at the Ames Wal-Mart and at Composite Technologies. She was affiliated with Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. Beverly enjoyed gardening. Beverly's pride and joy were her grandchildren and her dogs. Beverly is survived by her husband Mark, of Nevada, Iowa; 2 daughters: Laurie (Gary) Lingenfelter of Nevada, Iowa, Crystal Hirst of Nevada, Iowa; 4 grandchildren: Kevin (Erika) Lingenfelter, Brandie (Brad) Koenig, Angel Hirst, Alex Hirst; a step-grandson: Gerry (Kristina) Hirst; 2 step-great grandchildren: Ryan Hirst and Hunter Hirst; a brother: Dale Nelson of California and 2 sisters: Betty Holm of Arizona and Alice Davis of Georgia. Beverly's parents and stepfather, Walter Hanson, preceded her in death.
