Billie Marie Green, 91 of Maxwell, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2024.

Billie was born March 2, 1933, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of William and Iva (Rumbaugh) Green. She graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines in 1953 and attended Drake University. Billie had worked for the Des Moines Register and retired from Iowa State University, working in the English department. She also lived in London, England and worked as a personal assistant to Judy Collins.

Billie enjoyed traveling, drawing and spending time reading.

Billie is survived by numerous cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of Billie's life and luncheon will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the American Legion in Maxwell. A private burial will be at Green Castle Cemetery near Mingo.
