Bradley "Brad" Steven Plunkett, 56 of Maxwell, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at his home in Maxwell, Iowa.
Brad was born May 4, 1965, in Nevada, the son of Thomas and Karen (Haley) Plunkett. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1983 and attended DMACC to pursue a degree in AG Business where he earned an associate degree in 1985. He then began his career working over 20 years in the seed industry before starting farming fulltime in the Maxwell area in 2012. On March 28, 1987, Brad was united in marriage to Karmen Thomas at the Collins United Methodist Church.
Brad was a member of the Maxwell Presbyterian Church and served as treasurer and was an elder. He also served on the Collins-Maxwell School Board for five years. Brad always enjoyed listening to WHO Radio and playing cards, especially poker. He also was an avid fan of Iowa Hawkeyes football.
Brad was always there for his family. Whether it was a sporting event or activity, he always made time and was always there for them.
Brad is survived by his wife, Karmen; his parents: Tom and Karen Plunkett of Maxwell; his sons: Shawn (Alyssa) Plunkett of Baxter, Ryan (Katie) Plunkett of Maxwell, and Luke Plunkett of Maxwell; his brother, Gary (Sonja) Plunkett of Maxwell; his sister Deanna (Rob) Davis of Maxwell; his father and mother in-law, Dick and Pauline Thomas of Maxwell, sister-in-law Jodee (Denny) Andersen of Ankeny and 4 grandchildren: Eli, Maren, Nora and Nash.
A visitation will be 9:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Collins-Maxwell Elementary School (416 4th Avenue) in Collins. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Adrian McMullen officiating. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by going to www.rasmussonfh.com and clicking on Brad's photo then tribute wall. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center, Iowa. The family appreciates you to consider wearing a face covering.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in memory of Brad for their use to be determined at a later date.
