Carol Jean Hedlund, 67 of Boone, died Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Unity Point Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Carol was born March 2, 1955, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of William Russell and Florence Alberta (Olson) Trotter. She married Larry Harold Hedlund who died in 2020. Carol enjoyed latch hook, paint by numbers and traveling with Larry in the semi. She had a special love for her two dogs, Brownie and Sammy. Carol is survived by her sisters, Ruth Parrish of Canton, IL and Mary Trotter of Des Moines; her step-sons, Jeff (Jeanette) Hedlund of Nevada and Gary (Heidi) Hedlund of Des Moines; seven step-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her stepson, David Hedlund; and her sisters, Alice Trotter and Judith Trotter. Carol will be laid to rest in the UBC Cemetery in Polk City.
