Charles “Chuck” Francis Schadt, age 76, of Nevada, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him and many memories to cherish.

Born on January 21, 1950, Ames, Iowa, Chuck graduated from Linn Grove High School. After graduation, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He later built a long career as an electrician with Nelson Electric and L.A. Fulton & Sons.

Chuck found joy in playing the mandolin, fishing, listening to blues music, and traveling. His familiar black hat became part of how family and friends knew and will remember him.

Those left to lovingly remember Chuck include his daughter, Vicki Schadt of Nevada; his son, Charles (Heather) Schadt of Kissimmee, Florida; his grandchildren, Haley Bowers, Halley Schadt, Heaven Schadt, and Camden Schadt; his great-grandchildren, Ivy and Silas Bowers; his brother, William Patrick Collins of Nevada; and his sisters, Janney Collins (Bear) of Colorado and Nancy Collins of Des Moines.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Cindy, Vicki, and Cora; and his former wife, Virginia “Ginny” Settle.

In keeping with Chuck’s wishes, he has been cremated, and no services are planned.
