Born November 10,1938, in Dawson, Iowa, Charles Franklin Sutton was the son of Charles and Leora (Chase) Sutton. He grew up and received his education in Dawson, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1956.
Charles served as an infantryman in the United States Army, stationed in Hawaii and southeast Asia, and played trumpet in the Army band. Following his return to Iowa, he was employed by Sauer-Danfoss in Ames. He continued to work there for 33 years, and did part-time electrical work on the side.
On July 10, 1982, he married Karin (Hinton) Neuendorf in Iowa Falls, Iowa. The couple spent many fun-filled days traveling the country, bowling in every bowling alley along the way. With Karin's coaching and his own natural ability, Charles bowled a perfect game on April 4, 1995. The couple had many great adventures on the bowling circuit, bowling at the Trump Taj Mahal casino in Atlantic City and even on a ship. They were also avid campers and spent most of their summers camping with family and friends.
Charles was known as "Mr. Fix It" to his family and earned an award and photo in the newspaper for his Christmas light display. Charles loved helping Karin out in the kitchen with her famous chicken and noodles and cherished the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Randy (Terri) Sutton of Jefferson and Rodney Sutton of Newton: four step-children, Lisa (Ardee) Whitaker of Colo, Lori (Rob) Lodestein of Nevada, Deana Neuendorf of Zearing, and Heidy (Todd) Pickles of Nevada; 16 grandchildren, B.J.
