Charles Bennett Spaid, 55, of Nevada, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, September 9 at Memorial Lutheran Church (701 11th Street) in Nevada. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 10, also at the church with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating. Private burial will be at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Charlie was born May 22, 1963, in Iowa City, the son of Ralph and Joyce (May) Spaid. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1981. Charlie was united in marriage to Vicki McIntire on January 27, 1995, in Nevada and worked for Max Ag in Maxwell. Family was most important to Charlie. He enjoyed watching McKinley and Makayla play softball, helping Matthew with his 4-H calves and going on their annual hunting trip to the cabin in Bloomfield. Charlie is survived by his wife, Vicki; his son, Matthew Spaid, his daughters: McKinley and Makayla Spaid, Heather (Chuck) Schadt, Erica McDonough and Charlee Marie Spaid; his dad, Ralph Spaid; his brothers: Bill Spaid and Rod (Angie) Spaid; his sisters: Patricia Seals and Holly Tuttle; and eight grandchildren.
