Obituary

Charlotte Ann Klein, 79, of Nevada died on December 26, 2022, at the Israel Hospice House. There will be a visitation at the Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada on Thursday, December 29th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7 pm. Funeral mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday, December 30th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church (1110 11th Street) in Nevada with Father Dagit officiating.  Face coverings are requested at both visitation and funeral.  The prayer service and mass will be livestreamed at www.rasmussonfh.com. Charlotte was born August 14th, 1943, in Ames, IA to Leroy and Fern (Gowen) Scott. On January 31, 1961, she married Alvin Klein in Ames, IA. She had been employed at GFS and Donnelley Marketing in Nevada for 28 years. She retired from there in 2006. Charlotte was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The three most important values for Charlotte were Faith, Family, and Kindness.

Charlotte loved camping with Alvin and their friends Larry and Nancy Christian. They would spend many weekends at Twin Anchors, Hickory Grove Park or Saylorville. Family and friends would join them on occasion. Charlotte also loved her dogs and even her grand-dogs too. Charlotte enjoyed the holidays, especially Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. All the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren would pile into their small house, eat good food and play games. In her retirement, Charlotte also helped at the dance studio where she made many new friends, watched so many kids grow to be adults and enjoyed many dance recitals and competitions.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, Alvin of Nevada; Sherri and Cary Martin of Nevada, IA, Dean and Darla Klein of Johnston, IA, Donald Klein and Kelly Stufflebeam of Nevada, IA, and Kristi Vance and Anthony Rivas of Panora, IA. Rachel Kennedy (mother of Julia and Logan Klein) of Nevada, IA. and Robert Cox (father of Chris, Adam and Kelsey Cox) of Ankeny, IA. Charlotte is also survived by 22 grandchildren: Chris Cox, Sayer Martin, Tyler Martin, Adam Cox, Chandler Martin, Amanda Cox, Luke Klein, Leah Klein, Rachael Klein, Isaac Klein, Tirzah Klein, Asenath Klein, Kezia Klein, Marquis Klein, Zipporrah Klein, Christina Klein, Marianna Klein, Julia Klein, Logan Stufflebeam, Jacob Stufflebeam, Logan Klein, Dylan Rivas and Nella Rivas; 15 great grandchildren: Leighton Martin, Campbell Martin, Jaden Cox, Kyden Cox, Elsie Cox, Ayvalyn Cox, Finley Cox, Tatum Martin, Faren Martin, Ezio Klein, Opal Klein, Kairi Landrum, Nova Landrum and Saadiya Klein.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, 1 daughter, Julie Ann Klein and 2 grandchildren, Amanda "Kelsey" Cox and Joseph Klein, 1 brother, Wayne Scott of Las Vegas, NV. She is survived by 2 sisters Dorothy Sharp of Cottonwood, AZ And Barbara Pankuk of Barnum, IA.
