Cherise Lea Fruit, 65 of Nevada, died on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at her home in rural Nevada, Iowa. Cherise was born in Smith Center Kansas, on May 28, 1957, the daughter of Gerald and Laverne (Lake) Fruit. She graduated from Giltner High School in 1975. She had a variety of jobs over the years: her favorite – being a mom and raising her family with husband Mark Evans. They were married on June 29, 1991, in Ames. She loved spending time with her family and will be remembered for her caring smile, positive outlook on life and the music she enjoyed. Many fun days were spent shopping with family. Cherise also loved to be outdoors bird watching, gardening, or tending to her flowers. She enjoyed spoiling and spending time with her treasured pets as well. Cherise is survived by her husband, Mark Evans, her daughters: Tesha (Aaron) Korsching of Grimes, Chasity Krebs of Roland, Jada (Brad) Fulkerson of Whispering Pines, NC, Laura Evans of Iowa City and Carly Evans of Mount Healthy, OH; her sons: Hank (Michelle) Evans of Healey, AK and John Evans of Nevada; her brothers: Rod (Linda) McCullough of Liberal, KS, Craig Fruit of Giltner, NE and Mike Fruit of Central City, NE; her sisters: Bev Carlson of Chapel, NE, Mag Bradander of Central City, NE, Jo (Daryll) Hunicutt of Giltner, NE and Denise Schrock of Giltner, her brother-in-law Roger Evans and family and her sister-in-law Charlotte Riley and family; her grandchildren: Colin Korsching, Garielle Krebs, Avery Korsching, Grace Krebs, Anna Fulkerson, Sam Fulkerson, Haley Evans, Logan Evans, DeAndre Evans and Kalea Battles. She is preceded in death by her parents Gerald and Laverne Fruit; her siblings: Gary, Clark and Lynn; her son-in-law, Joseph Krebs; her nephew, Allen Zikmund, plus many beloved pets thru the years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local animal shelter. A Celebration of Life will be held over Labor Day weekend, Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm. with friends and family at 59518 170th Street Nevada, Iowa.
