Christopher "Chris" Lisle Rasmusson, 47 of Zearing, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at the Iowa River Hospice House in Marshalltown after an 18 month battle with cancer. Chris was born July 23, 1974, in Ames, the son of David and Elizabeth (Fisher) Rasmusson. He graduated from Colo-NESCO High School in 1993. On April 29, 2017, Chris was united in marriage to Lisa Rhodes in Zearing. Chris started his career in construction in 1992 working for Con-Struct in Marshalltown. For the last 14 years, he was a superintendent for Reilly Construction. Chris was dedicated to his work and took pride in what he did. He enjoyed riding his Harley, target shooting, camping and was always up for having a drink with friends. Most of all, Chris loved to spend time with his family and his dogs, Max and Harper. Chris is survived by his wife, Lisa of Zearing; his daughter, Sophia Piziali of Zearing; his parents, David and Liz Rasmusson of Ames; his sister, Jill (Jim) Miller of Zearing; his brothers, Rick Rasmusson of Marshalltown and Joe Rasmusson of Yuma, AZ; along with many uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends. Chris was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Regina Rasmusson and maternal grandparents, Ernie and Maxine Fisher. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2022, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing with Fr. Rick Dagit officiating. A reception will follow the graveside service at the Dakins Community Center (105 E. Main Street) in Zearing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to establish a college fund for Sophia. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
