Christine Owen (Samson) Baumann, 72 of Waukee, formerly of Nevada, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Unity Point Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Christine was born February 22, 1952, in Ames, Iowa, the daughter of Willard and Fern May (Van Sickle) Samson. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1970 and spent her life as a homemaker.

Christine was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Nevada. She enjoyed puzzles, but most of all loved to be with her family, especially at gatherings.

Christine is survived by her children, Jason (Sandy) Thomas of Nevada, Julie Olson of McCallsburg, Bradley Baumann of Marshalltown and Kimberley Baumann of Des Moines; her 9 grandchildren; and her 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Fern Samson; her sister, Patricia (Robert) Miller; her son, Jeff Thomas; her grandson, Brandon Hooker; and her son-in-law, Michael Olson.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) (250 W E Avenue) in Nevada.  A reception will follow the service.  Burial will be at a later date at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.
