Clara Mae Sparks, 87, of Nevada, formerly of Maxwell, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at Story Medical Senior Care Center.

Clara was born August 14, 1936, at Alleman, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew Edward and Lillian Edna (Gardner) Morgan. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1954. Clara was united in marriage to Delmar W. Sparks on September 3, 1954, in Nashua, Iowa. Delmar preceded Clara in death in 2001. Clara had worked for Crop Productions for 33 years. She was a member of the Mingo United Methodist Church, the Women's Club in Mingo, Federated Club, the American Legion Auxiliary of Mingo, and Satellites-Church Newspaper. Clara enjoyed quilting and crafts.

Clara is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: Rod and Rose Sparks of Maxwell, Iowa; her daughter: Candace Sparks of Scottsdale, Arizona; and five grandchildren: Aaron Cardoso, Fabian Cardoso, Calista Cardoso, R.W. Sparks, and John Karl.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 half-brothers, 1 brother, and 5 sisters.

Graveside services will be held at Noon, Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Farrar Cemetery.

In lieu of  flowers memorials may be made to Story County Senior Care in memory of Clara.
