CAMBRIDGE - Clarence Lee "Tuffy" Patterson, 66, of Cambridge died Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. He was born January 5, 1938 in Jasper County, the son of Harold and Ada (Gardner) Patterson. Tuffy graduated from Huxley High School in 1956. He served in the Navy and the Naval Reserves. He was united in marriage to Judy Cook November 29, 1973. He worked for Mid Seven Transportation as a truck driver and retired in 2003. Tuffy was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local #147, and was affiliated with the Cambridge United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Judy, of Cambridge; 2 sons: Tim (Mary) Patterson of Elkhorn, Nebraska, Steve (Pat) Patterson of Emmerson, Nebraska; two daughters: Justine (Tim) Larsen of Treynor, Iowa, Julee (Nick) Hilgenberg of Cambridge, Iowa; 8 grandchildren: Brittany Patterson, Tyler Patterson, Courtney Patterson, Alexander Larsen, Caleb Larsen, Braden Larsen, Samantha Crilly, Lucas Hilgenberg; his mother: Ada Patterson of Cambridge, Iowa and 2 sisters: Margaret Deal of Nevada, Iowa and Linda Longnecker of Cambridge, Iowa. His father preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell with Pastor Curtis DeVance officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Cambridge Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, 3:00 - 5:00 pm at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 8033 University Blvd., Suite A1, Des Moines, Iowa 50325. The Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is in charge of arrangements.
