Cody J. Rhoades, 24, of Ankeny, formerly of Maxwell, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, October 5, at the Maxwell Area Community Center in Maxwell. Family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow services. Cody was born April 12, 1994, in Des Moines, the son of John Rickey Jr. and Susan Louise (Tucker) Rhoades. In his free time, he enjoyed playing disc golf and video games, listening to music and cooking. Cody also will be remembered for telling great stories. Cody had an infectious smile that brightened any room he entered. He had a very kind soul and opened his heart to everyone. He was the world's best hugger. Cody is survived by his parents, Ric (Susie) Rhoades; his brothers: Jacob and Noah Rhoades; his sister, Hannah (Jesse) Bro; his girlfriend, Kay Jackson; his paternal grandparents, John (Bunny) Rhoades; his maternal grandpa, Lloyd Tucker; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
