Connie Lou
Krupp
March 29, 1946 – November 21, 2023
Connie Lou (Weuve) Krupp, 77 of Nevada, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at her daughters home in Akeley, Minnesota, after three weeks on hospice and approximately one month following the funeral of her beloved husband of 58 years.
Connie was born March 29, 1946, in State Center, Iowa, the sole offspring of Elmer (Pete) and Esther (Breer) Weuve. She graduated from NESCO High School in Zearing and gained a degree at the American Institute of Business in Des Moines. Connie was united in marriage to Larry Lee Krupp in Melbourne, Iowa and raised a family in Nevada, Iowa. While rearing two young children, Connie became the community "Avon Lady" and moved high in the ranks of that organization before switching gears and going into partnership with her husband in real estate, including management of Krupp Rental Properties in Nevada and Newton (and eventually, Hawaii.) They both obtained real estate licenses in the late 1970's and matured into brokers to establish their own agency, Progressive Partners Real Estate (the big yellow "P" house-for-sale signs) which evolved into RE/MAX Progressive Real Estate.
Connie was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada, and the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Holualoa, Big Island of Hawaii. Before retirement, Connie was a member of the Soroptimist Club in Nevada and throughout the rest of her life, interests included traveling, swing and square dancing, shopping, antiquing, and classic cars (including being members of Corvette and Packard groups, especially the Hawkeye Packard Club.) Together, Larry and Connie spent a part of each of the last ten years at their home on the Big Island of Hawaii, attending Elks Club gatherings (of which they were members) and donating time and energy to a local non-profit group to take care of the feral cat population.
Connie is survived by her two children: a son, Kris Byron Krupp and a daughter, Kim Michelle (Krupp) Bowen – both of Akeley, MN; and her grandson, Zackery Sebastian Krupp of Charlotte, NC.
The family will be holding a private memorial at the resort in Akeley, Minnesota and are tentatively planning a celebration of life service on Hawaii Island in March.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are welcomed towards the non-profit AdvoCATSHawaii.org, a charity Larry & Connie served with passion each and every day they stayed on the Big Island.
Condolences can be mailed, e-mailed or phoned to Kim or Kris at Crow Wing Crest Lodge, 31159 County 23, Akeley, MN 56433. (https://www.crowwing.com)
