Dan Yorgensen, 58 of Ames, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2020, of heart complications.
In keeping with COVID-19 guidelines, a private service will be held.
Dan was born in Ames on March 26, 1962, to Frederick and Ruth (Foster) Yorgensen. He moved to California in the late 60s and lived around Riverside until moving back to Ames in 1992. Dan worked at General Filter for 25 years, retiring from West Tech in 2018. He was most recently employed by Mike Louis Body Shop.
Dan loved music and playing his guitar and long rides on his motorcycle. His family and many friends will dearly miss his fun sense of humor and quirky nature.
Dan is survived by his wife, Theresa Leibold of Ames; his daughter, Breanna (Ricardo) Cuevas of Bakersfield, CA; his step-children, Brandon Leibold of Kansas City and Nicole Leibold of Ames; his mother, Ruth Subin of Battle Creek; his siblings: Dennis Yorgensen of Battle Creek and Kris Koerner of Ames; his granddaughters, Bella and Suzie; along with many nieces and nephews and his dog, Jax. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Yorgensen and his stepfather, Pete Shubin.
