Darrell Lowell Jobe, 73 of Colo, died Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at the VA Hospital in Des Moines after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Darrell was born March 12, 1947, in Fort Dodge, the son of Orla Merle and Mary Clarene (Nickless) Jobe. He graduated from Fort Dodge High School in 1966 and attended the Minneapolis School of Broadcasting. Darrell served in the United States Navy from 1966 until his honorable discharge in 1969. On November 20, 1984, he was united in marriage to Leisa Ann Hawkins in Fort Dodge. Darrell was an inside salesman for CFI Tire Service in Des Moines. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed rooting on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Twins, and the Minnesota Vikings. Darrell loved coaching his kids in all the different sports they were involved in.
Darrell is survived by his wife, Leisa of Colo; his daughter, Nastashia Jobe of Colo; his son, Blake Jobe of Huxley; his brothers: Doug (Sandi) Jobe of Delaware and Duane (Norma) Jobe of Council Bluffs; his brother-in-law, Geoff (LaTreace) Hawkins of Dripping Springs, TX; and his sister-in-law, Renee (Jim) Ballard of Urbandale. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Don Jobe.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday December 26, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. A prayer service will be at 11 a.m. Masks and social distancing will be required.
