Darryl Pumphrey, 73, died Thursday, May 30, 2007, at his home in Churdan, Iowa. Darryl was born January 29, 1934 in El Dorado, Kansas to parents, Otis and Grace (Brown) Pumphrey. He married Carol Ann Piepho on March 5, 1984 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2007. He was a veteran and served in the US Navy. Darryl worked as an Insurance Salesman and Crop Adjuster for many years. He is survived by his son, Michael Pumphrey, a daughter, Angela Esslinger both of Wichita, KS, a brother, Paul Pumphrey, Mena, AK, a sister, Suzie Berbert, Lakewood, CO, 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents and his wife. Mr. Pumphrey has been cremated and no services are planned at this time. Bacon Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
