MAXWELL - David Scott "Gus" Gustafson, 37, of Maxwell died Saturday, April 7, 2007.
He was born February 14, 1970 at Nevada, Iowa the son of Michael and Thresia (Cook) Gustafson. He graduated from Collins- Maxwell High School in 1989. He served in the US Navy for 4 years. While in the Navy, he received advanced training in electronics at Great Lakes Training Center, finishing 3rd in his class. He served on the USS Ouellet out of Pearl Harbor during the Gulf War. David was a Master Electrician at Nationwide Locomotive Services in Traer, Iowa. He was affiliated with the Gilbert Lutheran Church.
David loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting trips.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Thresia Gusafson of Maxwell; his fiancee: Erma Morales of Albion; his sister: Elizabeth (Mark) Junk of Gilbert; a niece: Mary Junk of Gilbert; and his paternal grandmother: Lavon Gustafson of Marshalltown.
He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Leonard and Alice Cook; his paternal grandfather: John Gustafson; and a nephew, Austin Junk.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 Wednesday at the Gilbert Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery at Iowa Center.
Visitation will be 6:30 - 8:30 PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
