David Eugene Shepherd, 81 of Colo, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

David was born June 11, 1943, in Osceola, Iowa the son of Alvin Roscoe and Doris Emogene (Draper) Shepherd. He attended Nevada High School and in 1968, he moved to Colorado where he would live until 2012. David retired from Weld County School District in Greeley, Colorado. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

David is survived by his significant other, Rebecca Johnson; his children Ronica Hickey and Tesa Shepherd; his stepchildren Matthew Gaines, Shirley Keener, Debbie Pollock, and Fred Feurt; his sisters Sharon Doty and Kathy Shepherd; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Kerry Shepherd; his siblings Ronald Shepherd (infancy), Donald Shepherd, Marilyn Adams, Lorraine Shepherd, Patricia Jacobson, Larry Shepherd and Carol Bennington; and his stepson David Feurt.

David has been cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
