Dean Scott Fuller of rural Cambridge lost his battle with mental illness on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

Dean was born on November 7, 1953, to Wallace and Jean Scott Fuller in Des Moines, IA. Dean graduated from Maxwell High School in 1972 and started farming on the family farm later that year. He married Jerilyn Meyer on September 2, 1978, in Collins, IA. Dean was an active member of Loring United Methodist Church. He loved going to farm sales and socializing…he never met a stranger. He enjoyed watching westerns, baseball and always made time for his morning coffee groups. Dean was always willing to help someone in need.

He is survived by his wife, his two sons: Brett Fuller (Courtney) of Slater, IA and Blake Fuller of Cedar Rapids, IA, his grandchildren: Nolan and Hadley Fuller, his brother: Douglas Fuller of Cambridge, IA, his sister: Deborah Fuller Miller (Steve) of Lawrence, KS, his uncle: Mike Fuller (Jeanine), his aunt: Ardis Scott Smith of Ankeny, IA, his niece Rachel Miller, and nephew Luke Miller, his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness or Easterseals Rural Solutions.

A visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 pm, Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (422 First Street) in Maxwell. A memorial service will be held 10:30 am, Friday, May 12, 2023, at the Maxwell Community Center (84 Main Street) in Maxwell. Private Inurnment will follow at a later date.
