Debra Lynn Johnson, formerly of Huxley, Iowa. Deb was originally from Nevada, Iowa, died peacefully, she was truly cared for, deeply loved, she went home to join her Soulmate, Ancestors, Beloved Life Dogs Honey/Harley, & Heavenly Father in a state of unity & she gained her guardian angel wings on a spiritual bridge journey of 20 days after Father’s Day on Saturday, July 11, 2026 at her daughter/son Kristina & Jason’s home under the care of St. Croix Hospice — Team. All of the people sent to help her were a gift/godsend in taking Deb back to who she truly was as a genuine person. Deb was of sound mind & was advocating for herself right alongside of her home caregiver youngest daughter Kristina up to the end. We’re honoring Deb’s final end-of-life wishes…she’s been cremated & there’ll be no visitation or no formal funeral services done for Deb. Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada has been entrusted with her cremation care. Deb will be deeply missed by all who knew & truly loved her.

Debra Lynn Johnson was born August 17,1955, in Nevada, Iowa at Story County Hospital, she’s the loving daughter of Irven & Darlene (Morris) Boozell. One of Deb’s greatest life accomplishments was earning the Title — Accountant. Deb had gone onto a fulfilling life career in Accounting for many years starting out at Donnelly Marketing (Nevada, Iowa), onto Print Graphics (Nevada, Iowa), onto Murphy Brown (Ames, Iowa) & finishing Accounting HR at Rolling Green Village (Nevada, Iowa) after retiring.
On September 9, 1978, Deb was united in marriage to Komer Alton Johnson Jr. in Lake Mills, Iowa. Deb & Komer enjoyed over 40+ years together with a life full of dancing (2-Step) • ups/downs— Deb had self-taught herself how to dance & was always following her husband Komer’s lead, their love for searching for antiques, they both worked/hard & played/hard, built 2 gorgeous acreage homes together, tractor/truck pulling adventures, ISF yearly, Old-Settlers yearly tradition, parades, building strong friendships, friend fish fries, cutting/freezing Iowa sweetcorn, hosting family gatherings & celebrations, VFW supper nights, yearly couple Branson bus trips, motorcycle rides, countryside driving side by side, fun mini vacays, weekends spent venturing out to Twin Anchors Camp Ground for fun filled family adventures together, & they enjoyed so many different social dancing celebrations for many many years throughout Central Iowa.
Deb always had the best put-together look/style & her natural beauty, everybody was in awe of her graceful ability in just watching her for hours gliding on the dance floor, she had the most contagious smile, she was such a selfless person & always putting everyone else 1st before herself. Many people raved about Deb’s delicious food prep & her fantastic cooking ability. For a good portion of her life she went by, “Little Debbie”!
Together Komer & Deb both took home countless awards/trophies for their tractor/truck pulling skills. The majority of Deb & Komer’s trophies have been willingly donated back to Mid-Iowa Antique Power Association to be refurbished for future generations to win pulls; each pull will be announced in memory. Those who were lucky enough to witness Deb’s technical skill behind the wheel managing immense power, traction, & weight control of Komer’s thought out prepared pickup machine…jaws had literally dropped in watching her as Deb’s split-second decisions-making, & her specialized driving abilities down many different tracks in Iowa, which got Deb & Komer multiple full-pulls!! See a penny, pick it up…when Deb & Komer found a lucky coin, for years they exchanged with each other the gift of a variety of coins as spouses, representing that their luck will never end or they shared many different coins of Love Tokens/Pennies From Heaven.
On Deb’s soft side, purple petunias were her fav. Deb was considered by many people to be a tough cookie to have endured so much hard in her short lifetime, nobody can ever dim Deb’s light again, she always had an extremely strong work ethic, she made connections w/ so many different people, she truly adored all of her bonding relationships with a very deep emotional connection, & Deb’s kindness radiated. She died comfortably, peacefully, no distress, no more pain, listening to her all time fav music — Sundays & Afternoons 90’s Country Music on 92.5 KJJY & Deb gracefully let go, her soul had a “good death.” Debbie’s time here on earth is gone way too soon!!
Deb died just 7 Days after the 4th of July’s historic 250th anniversary—symbolizes ultimate freedom & release of her earthly suffering. This signifies that her soul has achieved its highest spiritual liberation. Kristina’s both honored/blessed to have lovingly cared for Mom/Deb, transitioning Mom peacefully is her daughter’s ultimate gift from her earthly pain/suffering into her spiritual rest & spiritual reunion in joining all her ancestors.
Her spiritual surrender, being carried into a realm of unconditional love, peace, & light. Deb died just like she was a loving/selfless person taking us on a spiritual journey bridge of specific family dates, closure/new beginnings for our family, passing the torch for the next generation…divinely orchestrated, woven herself into the fabric of our lives. To celebrate her earthly legacy & always remember her…not overshadowing anything.
Deb is forever cherished by her two daughters/son: Kristina/Jason Reece & Rachel. Nana’s treasured grandchildren/significant others: Kadyn, Kyler, Kailyn/Chase, Kyler/Kayla, Dylan, & Orson/Nicki; Her adorable great-grandchildren: Quinn, Kaenin & Kota Jo her great-grandbaby (boy) has joined our family just this July! Three of Debbie’s very special sisters: Vicki Fredregill, Kathy/Mark Larsen, Shirley/Bill McNeece. Her very dear sister-in-law Kay Whitman. As well as countless other very dear/close friends of Deb’s & even all of Deb’s caring/loving extended true family members.
Deb was preceded in death by her husband Komer, both of her parents; a sister: Julie Ann Boozell in 1990; her nephew: Joshua Michael Fertig; her step-son: Kevin Alton Johnson, her sisters-in-law: Sharyl Jorth & Terry Seedorf; & her brothers-in-law: Al Jorth, Dave Whitman, Dewey Seedorf, & Jerry Fredregrill.
