Della Fisher, 84, of Ames passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Abington on Grand Nursing Home in Ames. Della was born June 12, 1928, in Marshalltown to Delbert and Opal (Sankey) Sohler. On May 17, 1945, she married Clifford Fisher, who passed away on June 12, 1999. She enjoyed gardening, animals and being with her grandchildren. Della is survived by her son, David (Lynet) Fisher of Ames; her daughters, Loretta (Jon) Setzer of Littleton, CO, Sheila Lowe (Robert Andersen) of Harlan, IA, and Sharon (Jeff) Kryger of Bellevue, NE; her sister, Margaret "Margie" Lewis of Independence, MO; her step brother, Earl "Bub" (Marie) Cronk of Marshalltown; her six grandchildren: Brenda Johnson, Lisa Skartvedt, Angela Thede, Justin Muschick, Chester Fisher and Levi Fisher; and her eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Linda Shaffner; two grandsons, Ian Ray and Logan Fisher; one granddaughter, Afton Fisher; and one great-grandson, Blake Johnson. Visitation will be 12:30-2:30 p.m. Monday June 25, 2012, at Bacon Funeral Home, with funeral services following at 2:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Clemons Cemetery in Clemons. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in loving memory of Della. Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
