Donald Dean Knott, 86 of Nevada, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Windsor Manor in Nevada.

Don was born June 23, 1938, in Marshalltown, IA the son of Richard and Nellie "Lorraine" (Grimes) Knott. He graduated from Eldora High School in 1956 and attended AIB in Des Moines. On May 4, 1958, Don was united in marriage to Janice Fuller at Owasa, IA. He served in the Iowa National Guard from 1960-1966 and worked for Midwest Insurance in Nevada as an accountant.

Don was a past member of the McCallsburg Lions Club and the Kiwanis Club of Nevada. He had also served in a leadership role at Regency in Nevada. Don enjoyed computers, playing solitaire and spending winters at the Tropical Trail RV Park in Texas.

Don is survived by his wife Janice of Nevada; his daughter-in-law Michelle Knott of Altoona; five grandchildren Ryan (Sarah) Knott, Trisha Knott, Annelise (Seth) Triplett, Dannon (Hailey) Anderson and John Anderson and two great-grandchildren Charlotte Triplett and Ivy Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Lisa Anderson, his son Steven Knott, his brother David Knott and his brother-in-law Gary Fuller.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will follow at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Owasa, IA.

Memorials may be made to the Nevada Public Library, where Don and Janice would often spend their mornings.
