Donna Mae Eyanson, 93 of Ames, formerly of Nevada, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Bethany Life in Story City.

Donna was born September 29, 1930, in Ames, Iowa the daughter of Byron Varley and Ethel L. (Lodestein) Ball. She attended Ames High School and later earned her GED. On February 23, 1948, she was united in marriage to Thomas Eyanson.

Donna was a homemaker and was involved with Stephen Ministry. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, music and going on bus trips around the country.

Donna is survived by her sons, Dr. Steven (Dr. Mary) Eyanson of Orangevale, CA, James "Jim" (Carol) Eyanson of Nevada and Fred (Marilyn) Eyanson of Nevada; her grandchildren, Beth Eyanson, David (Sarah) Eyanson, Marissa (Matthew) Eyanson-Reken, Jaye (Mike) Boman, Joseph (Jana) Eyanson, Jacob (Jessica) Eyanson, Crystal Eyanson and Alex Eyanson; her brother, Darrell (Elaine) Ball of Des Moines; and her sisters, Mary Novak of Ames, Barbara (John) Rasmussen of Ames and Nancy Sodders of Ames. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Daniel Eyanson and her sister, Jeanette.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home (1418 Fawcett Pkwy) in Nevada. The service will be livestreamed and can be viewed by going to www.rasmussonfh.com, click on Donna's photo, then tribute wall. Family will greet friends beginning at 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Inurnment will be at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery in Nevada.
