NEVADA - Dorene L. Clemons, 69, of Nevada, died Thursday, February 23, 2006 at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Dorene was born October 4, 1936 near Zearing, Iowa, the daughter of Martin and Ada (Hannusch) Mehlisch. Dorene graduated from Zearing High School in 1955 as class valedictorian. She was united in marriage to Robert "Bob" Clemons on June 25, 1955 in Saint John's Lutheran Church in State Center. Bob preceded Dorene in death January 30, 2003. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church of Nevada. Dorene enjoyed painting, gardening, needlework, baking cakes and taking care of the kids at home. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Robert (Pam) Clemons of Boone, IA; 4 daughters and sons-in-law: Penny (Edd) Bever of Manatoo Springs, CO, Cathy (Charles) Walker of Nevada, IA, Peggy (Lyle) Butler of Nevada, IA, Ann (Doug) Gull-Clemons of Rockford, IL; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; a brother: Ralph Mehlisch of Colo, IA; and a half sister: Helen Healy of Texas. Dorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sisters: Marie and Anna Mae; and 4 brothers: Raymond, Lyle, Harold, and Armour. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Monday, February 27, 2006 at the Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. Visitation will be 2:00 - 4:00 PM Sunday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Cremation will follow the services. Memorials may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation and to the Memorial Lutheran Church. The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
